Picture This is back for a second time!

Join us as we showcase another epic collaboration of poetry and visual art!

This time, we are changing it up a bit. Local poets will be randomly be paired with local artists to create written interpretations of the individual art pieces. Poets won’t find out who their artist is until the night of the show.

Selected writers will be reading these poems aloud on event night alongside their collaborative art piece (which will be available for purchase!).

‘Picture This’ combines two mediums that are often left to the imagination.

Much like putting a “face to the name,” we are bringing words to color.

*open mic if time allows. Sign-ups for open mic will take place the day of the show. No pre-show registration is available due to time contingencies.

Picture This is a collaborative art show of poetry and visual art. Local poets will be paired randomly with local visual artists to create written renditions of individual art pieces. At the event, selected writers will be reading these poems (and more) alongside the collaborative art piece. The show takes place on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 8pm – 11pm. (Doors at 730, Show at 8pm sharp)

For Visual Artists: Art pieces for this project need to be submitted NLT July 20. We ask that you be in attendance the night of the show. Please keep in mind, that this piece will be interpreted into a written form and should include some type of imagery that can translate as such. Questions: FortWayneHeartoftheCity@gmail.com

For Poets: You will receive the art piece for you to interpret NLT July 22. The poem should be read aloud on event night (along with 2 other written pieces of your choice if you wish) and will also need to be printed, framed & submitted NLT September 1st. Questions: chanelle.elizabeth@gmail.com

All pieces will be displayed in the gallery until TBD. Art can be marked for sale if desired. Visual artists may only submit their collaborative piece.
