Artlink was founded in 1978 by a group of young artists to promote awareness of emerging artists and art forms. The organization has grown over the years, expanding into larger spaces and adding new programs, but our mission is still rooted in the same founding principle.
Our mission is to showcase work of the highest quality by diverse visual artists. The organization also provides educational programming for artists and the community.
1976 Linker’s Gallery at 1117 1⁄2 Broadway St. Artlink was founded by Bruce Linker who utilized his apartment to showcase emerging artists’ work.
1978 Artlink opens at 1126 Broadway St. Artlink was organized in the summer of 1978 by a group of young artists to promote awareness of emerging artists and art forms. This space housed gallery and performance rooms, a studio for artists, and a library.
1988 Artlink moves to 1030 Broadway St.
1991 Artlink moves to 437 E. Berry St. Artlink becomes a funded principal partner of Arts United. The space in the Hall Community Arts Center, owned by Arts United, was remodeled to accommodate Artlink’s needs.
2011 Artlink moves to its current location at 300 E. Main St. Artlink now resides in the Auer Center for Arts & Culture. The gallery doubled in size and now has two classrooms, a workroom, offices, and a large exhibit space.
